Positive: Public bath, private bath, room is nice. We got a tatami room that can see sunrise that was amazing. Staff is nice to answer all questions. Especially answer message. Some hotel didn't answer my question through the website. Food is nice and good too. A private dinning room for your group which is nice.

Negative: The location is on uphill. It is not convenient to go up and down by walking. Free shuttle only pick up and drop off 1 time. You need to use taxi or Uber for transportation. Uber is not useful during peak hours. You need to walk back to train station to look for taxi.

Positive: Shintomi-tei is a traditional Japanese-style hotel that offers warm hospitality and excellent facilities. The hot spring is spacious and very comfortable, and the dining experience is superb. We were particularly impressed by the sumptuous meals, which featured different menus every day, as well as the ever-smiling staff. The location is also convenient, with easy access to nearby tourist spots. If we visit Matsushima again, we will definitely return to this hotel.

Negative: A clock should be placed in the hot spring area to help guests avoid losing track of time.

Summary: The warm hospitality and delicious food made for a truly inviting experience.

Positive: Lovely traditional Japanese style hotel in a beautiful location, walking distance into Matsushima town and the temple area. The hotel offers wonderful food in the hotel and wonderful service. It also onsen facilities on site. The staff were very helpful offering us take us to the station when it rain on our return journey.

Negative: The onsen for men in the evening was quite limited as we had to use the facilities on Floor1 rather than the more spacious onsen facilities on the ground floor. Additionally I would have been happy to be offered Matsushima oysters during the evening meal even at an additional price.

Summary: A relaxing stay with my family at a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location
